Art Of A Gypsy ~Fall Equinox~ Art Retreat
Come and join us for a beautiful creative weekend in my vintage style art studio in upstate NY! The fall is so beautiful here and we will be taking advantage of the peaceful 8 acres of woods that surround the art studio with other activities as well such nature walks, outdoor dining and on Saturday night an acoustical guest will play guitar for us around the campfire! There are beautiful gardens that surround the property , a pond and some sweet farm animals to greet you. So very happy to have the very talented Roxanne Evans Stout join us and offer 2 amazing workshop!
I live and create in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and the mountains and the river lands that surround my home are my constant inspiration. I am an Adjunct Professor at Oregon Institute of Technology where I teach Mixed Media Arts.I share my art in workshops throughout the United States and have had my work shown and been published internationally. I also teach online workshops to students who are from all over the world.Teaching enables me to share my passion...nothing makes me more happy than helping my students through their own process of renewal. My goal is to help you find your own magic. Through my art I would like to convey the feeling of connecting, timelessness and re-creation.My biggest project, my book, "Storytelling with Collage" was published in March 2016 by North Light Books.
As an artist I am constantly learning and growing. Art is my passion, my love, my soul.

Sherri
has always loved being creative and sharing that love
with others.
She enjoys
creating mixed media artwork and
artisan jewelry filled with unique texture,
colors and inspirational messages.Traveling the east coast, she has been able
to share her love of art and hopefully help inspire others to find that passion
within.
Sherri has been featured in over a dozen national magazines over the
past 2 years and has 3 up and coming issues for the spring in Jewelry Affaire,
Mingle and Somerset Studio Apprentice Magazines. She currently is a design team and guest design team member for several creative companies.

Create these beautiful one of a kind wooden boxes that we will paint and adorn with hand made polymer clay tiles,trinkets and charms to make it a special blessing box unique to you.

1-4pm~ Nature’s Offerings Workshop~ Roxanne Evans Stout
A hand gathered collection of art-filled pages in your own uniquely bound book
Let loose your inner artist with Roxanne as we celebrate the Autumn Equinox at the Indigo Earth and WildHeart Art Studios
During this workshop we will create a book, simply but elegantly assembled with a stick for the spine. We will decorate the pages with stains and pan pastels and then layer and collage papers and fabrics. Lastly we will attach natural objects on to the pages using wire and threads. You will go home with a beautiful handmade book of Natures Offerings and can easily able to add more pages during studio hours.
4-6pm~ StoryTelling Sticks with Sherri Welser~
Native American Story telling sticks or talking sticks have a rich history in communal gatherings and holds a deep respect when the keeper of the stick is speaking. We will be creating our own talking sticks with beads, feathers, bells stamps,paint,leather etc. All designed to make it a personal journey when creating your own. Each item we use will have its own special meaning.

Sneak Peak of her beautiful voice!
Jaimie Lee is a singer/songwriter in the Finger Lakes Region known for her unique, acoustic renditions of popular songs and melodic vocals. Her americana/folk sound gives life to songs of many genres including country, pop, and classic rock that are likely to bring back memories and help make new ones.

9-11am~ Intuitive Painting with Sherri Welser
In this workshop find your inner muse by using your intuition to create. We will apply paints, inks, stencils ,stamps and mark making on our canvases as our base and create layers on top of that.
11 am -12noon~ Gourmet Lunch
12- 3pm~"Weaving in Nature" with Roxanne Evans Stout
Creating a beautiful box, an artifact that holds your thoughts and dreams, woven together with threads,natural objects and treasures from your life.
During this workshop we will begin with a small cardboard box. We will paint the box with gesso and stains and collage the inside with colored papers and images. Then we will create a loom with the outside walls of the box. Woven within will be colored and textured threads, sticks, feathers, bones and other natural elements.
4pm ~ Good Byes as Retreat comes to an end

Local Airport would be either Syracuse or Rochester ( we are in the middle) and they are about 45 minutes to an hour away) Transportation would need to be arranged at the airport or before hand to bring you here. We are located in the town of Phelps.
Accommodations are not included but these are new hotels that are reasonable and right down the road from the studio. For those of you that might like to share a room.. let me know as I can help connect you up.
