~Its Your Destiny~ Designing with Copper Disks and Proxxon Tools by Sherri Welser

~Its Your Destiny~

Designing with Copper Disks

In this new Design Team project for Proxxon Tools create these beautiful copper disks to add to any jewelry piece! I love to mix metals and had these 2 empty bangles that I had added verdigris patina to but didn't add anything else yet. I had a sheet of copper metal and decided to use my disk cutter to cut the round disks out and the Proxxon Drill Press ( TBM 115) to drill the holes for the jump rings.  For instructions please visit the  Proxxon Blog  and lets have some fun making these unique copper disks!

In this necklace I used a metal embosser ( Vintaj  Big Kick) to get the lovely texture on the  copper metal pieces and the  Proxxon Bench Drill Press TBM 115  . I have had these 2  metal door pieces for awhile and was waiting for the right project to use them. Doodle Fun Mania~ Creativity Anywhere!

Doodle Fun Mania!

YES you DO have enough time for creativity and art!  One of the things I enjoy doing is to sit down when the family is watching TV  and make use of that time for creativity and being able to be with your family! Doodling is something you can  start and stop at any point ,all you need is a minimal amount of supplies! Many times I take a small bag of pens and my journal on the plane to pass the time and be creative~ it works out great!

You can incorporate doodles in many thing you do and have varying degrees of doodling in projects. I like to add them to my mixed media projects as well.

One of my favorite doodle projects is to create little fairy houses!

The possibilities are endless! I dont really have a favorite type of paper~ most will work well although you dont want an absorbent paper as you will want the gel pen ink to sit on top of the paper. My favorite white and black pens are Uniball Signo gel pens ans they also come in silver and gold! I also like creating with the Gelly Roll gel pens and those come in many colors ( metallics, brights, neons, souffle etc )

Not to mention ....some white doodling in my black Dylusions journal! So much yummy fun!
So grab some pens and get doodling~ No excuses now:)

Have a Great Day Everyone!

Art Of A Gypsy ~Fall Equinox~ Art Retreat September 15th-17th 2017

Art Of A Gypsy ~Fall Equinox~ Art Retreat

Come and join us for a beautiful creative weekend in my vintage style art studio in upstate NY! The fall is so beautiful here and we will be taking advantage of the peaceful 8 acres of woods that surround the art studio with other  activities as well such nature walks, outdoor dining and  on Saturday night an acoustical guest will play guitar for us around the campfire! There are beautiful gardens that surround the property , a pond and some sweet farm animals to greet you. So very happy to have the very talented Roxanne Evans Stout join us and offer 2 amazing  workshop!

I live and create in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and the mountains and the river lands that surround my home are my constant inspiration. I am an Adjunct Professor at Oregon Institute of Technology where I teach Mixed Media Arts.
I share my art in workshops throughout the United States and have had my work shown and been published internationally. I also teach online workshops to students who are from all over the world.
Teaching enables me to share my passion...nothing makes me more happy than helping my students through their own process of renewal. My goal is to help you find your own magic. Through my art I would like to convey the feeling of connecting, timelessness and re-creation.
My biggest project, my book, "Storytelling with Collage" was published in March 2016 by North Light Books.
As an artist I am constantly learning and growing. Art is my passion, my love, my soul.
